The sport-utility with an extra dose of ?sport? gets better by a nose, and adds a limited edition. The Infiniti FX is among the sportiest and style-focused crossovers, and while it can still turn heads three years after its last major redesign, it?s time for a refresh. laughing mechanic billThat knocking sound, those screeching brakes, the worn tires. All signals that trouble is either here or just ahead, and your car needs to go in for repairs sooner rather than later. Are you going to be ready for the bill that comes along with the repair work? According to a study by AAA, there's a good chance you won't be.

One in four American drivers wouldn't have the funds available to pay a repair bill of $2,000. If the tally drops to $1,000, then one in eight drivers would still be unable to pay the mechanic. It's not like those totals are out of line for a major repair, either.

If you need transmission work done, you can quickly climb into the four-figure range. Engine work? Keep climbing. Don't forget about the rubber on the road either, as a new set of tires certainly starts in the low hundreds but rapidly rises into the low thousands for higher-performing hoops.

Because of the costs associated with maintaining an automobile, and given the current economic climate, a quarter of all motorists say they are neglecting needed repairs. The problem is, that could lead to a worse situation down the road.

How are you preparing for the unexpected? Are you hoping for the best or stashing cash just in case? Sound off in the comments.

Like usual, the Camry takes a risk and comes up conservative. Each successive generation of Toyota Camry seems to take one or two minor styling risks that generate some conversation without jeopardizing the model?s staggering sales figures. In a brilliant defense of his home track, Justin Kirby picked up his fifth win of the Red Sox Racing Leagues 2011 Season Two F1 schedule.  His victory at the ?It?s Cool to be Cheesy 22? moved Kirby into second place in the overall championship point race.    Road America is one of the favorite tracks on the RSR schedule.  With 14 corners and a technically challenging four mile layout, the circuit provides ample opportunity for drivers to assess their competition before making pass attempts.  The pit road entrance and exit at Road America is one of the easiest to negotiate on the F1 schedule.  Unfortunately for them, the break drivers get during pitting is the only rest available on the course.       Elevation changes at many of the corners mean braking [...]

Jarno Trulli says the new Lotus power steering system has "transformed" his car, the Italian delighted with his performance after qualifying. Trulli had struggled with the previous power steering, which was not giving him enough feedback to feel the car properly, and so Lotus introduced a new version for this weekend's race. The Italian has been more competitive with it, and he finished less than two tenths behind team-mate Heikki Kovalainen in qualifying today, despite claiming he did not extract the best from his car.

Nearly three years ago Streetfilms took a day trip to Washington, D.C. to see their new bike-share system, Smart Bike DC, in action. We found the trial system a fun ride with great potential, but with only 120 bikes there wasn’t widespread use.
Flash forward to 2011. With more than 1,100 bicycles and 110 stations, D.C.’s [...]

Paul Hembery: "It's been another fascinating race in mixed conditions which has allowed Jenson Button to demonstrate his skills of mastering changing weather and the capabilities of our P Zero tyres, which demonstrated both performance and durability throughout the grand prix. Even when rain was falling at the end of the race, Button managed to secure enough grip from the P Zero Yellow soft tyres to make sure of a well-deserved victory. "There was a very wide variety of strategies employed by all the teams throughout the race, with the top five using four different strategies, but in the end it all came down to each driver's ability to get the best out of slick tyres in slippery conditions

lamborghini aventador on top gear

Here's your official spoiler alert warning, as the following video is taken from a Top Gear episode that has yet to air on this side of the Atlantic.

Top Gear tests automobiles that are pure dream fuel for the average enthusiast. The Top Gear Test Track has pushed truly tenacious machines to the limit courtesy of both the trio of presenters and, of course, The Stig. Since Lamborghini has a new big bull, it was only a matter of time before the largest Lambo arrived on the set of the world's greatest motoring show.

Richard Hammond is up first, and his date with the Aventador goes rather swimmingly. After he gets a shot in the control seat, the Stig has the chance to run the Lamborghini around the track. How does the Aventador fare? Click past the jump to find out...and make it quick, because this video could be pulled from YouTube soon.
